Phil McNally

Phil "Captain 3D" McNally is an Irish-born American animator best known for his work in 3-D film; in the 1990s, he legally changed his middle name to "Captain 3D".[1] The BBC describes him as a "leading pioneer of 3D animation."[2]

A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, McNally's first public presentation of his work was at SIGGRAPH 2000.[3] He subsequently moved to America, where he joined Industrial Light and Magic; since then, he has also worked for DreamWorks, and served as a supervisor for the Disney Digital 3-D brand, beginning with the conversion of Chicken Little into 3-D.
